The Catcher in the Rye #6

It is important that we still read this story because there are still people out there like the main character, Holden Caulfield. Many people now days have mental illnesses and I think it is important we get an insight on what it is like. It is important t0 understand what it is like for other people who have these illnesses. Then you realize how good you have it and you can appreciate what your life for how it is. We can learn from this book not to judge people for how they act. There's a reason behind every person that makes them the way that they are. I think Salinger wanted you to realize it is important not to judge people because you never know what they may be going through. Reading this book you can learn and understand want mental illnesses are like. You can see how hard it may be for some people and it can inspire you to help others and be nice to all people. I think that's what Salinger wants you to take from this book. Don't judge a book by its cover basically. Looking at Holden you would never know he was going through so much and how horrible he was feeling. There could be someone you know and see everyday and they could be feeling just as bad as Holden was. That why it is important to treat everyone nicely because they could be feeling horrible and just being nice to them could really make their day. It may not seem like a lot to you but to some people could really mean a lot. Salinger wants people to know all of this and wants to try to make you see the world differently. You never know what some people may be going through. I agree with Salinger's point of veiw in this story. I agree with this theme and message that he is sending through this book.
